Changelog
What changed in each release, newest first. Dates are year, month, day. Versions follow Semantic Versioning.
Changed
- The demo opens two Week 4 games: Cowboys at Texans and Lions at Panthers on Sunday night.
Added
- Every game's Overview opens with The matchup, the game in a few sentences: where, when, who is favored, and the conditions, with each team's season card right under it.
- This week's briefing shows fifteen contexts on every game, the same count for every matchup: the analyst read's sentences as tagged rows, then the flags, five to a page.
- The demo home walks four steps: two full briefings of this week's games, the query with three questions you can tap (Andy Reid at home off a win, the Cowboys in prime-time division games, Aaron Rodgers at home after a loss), three profiles, then standings, leaders, and explore.
Changed
- The demo follows the current week: two of this week's games, refreshed through the week, with the live league pulse and headlines, instead of a frozen Week 2.
- Headlines cover the last seven days and skip listings: how to watch, previews, highlights, odds. A game's Overview shows five, one on the game and two per team.
- The league pulse on the home page shows six flags and six headlines at a time, with a pager in each card's corner.
- Injuries reach the flags as soon as they are reported, not only once the league files its midweek report, so a star ruled out on a Tuesday shows up that day.
- A game at a neutral site, like Rio de Janeiro, counts as away from home for both teams.
Fixed
- The line block on a game row sits level with the team names again on games not yet played.
- A coach-versus-coach record appears once per game, not once from each side.
- The count of contexts on a briefing card is the number of rows in its list.
Added
- A public demo at /demo, no account needed: two finished Week 2 briefings and three profiles with every section open, the query builder on those three, standings, and leaders. The home page's main button opens it.
Changed
- A new home page: what Cipher IQ is in plain words, a side-by-side comparison of one game's two coaches, two quarterbacks, and two franchises, three real charts that open in the demo, a plain live question (the 49ers at home after a win), and why the record starts in 1999. The data coverage table is gone from the page.
- Demo pages explain themselves to a first-time visitor, and carry the PRO mark beside the logo.
- The demo asks for a free account where it counts: at the end of each briefing and each unlocked page, and the banner names what an account opens.
Fixed
- A stadium with a retractable roof no longer reads as outdoors before its game is reported: AT&T Stadium says indoors, with no weather line.
- The home page's rank-by-week chart draws in the first weeks of a season, using last season until this one has two weeks.
- A long coach name fits the summary tiles at the top of a matchup.
Fixed
- The analyst read never contradicts the injury report: the morning rewrite reads ESPN's report of that morning, a line about a player drops the moment his status changes, and the rewrite runs every morning instead of four mornings a week.
Added
- Cipher IQ 1.0, the first public release. Every matchup, team, coach, and player from 1999 to today, with Pro open to anyone who wants the full briefing.
Added
- This changelog, linked from the footer of every page.
- A new icon: the C IQ mark, in the browser tab and on an iPhone home screen.
Changed
- Every by-season card on a player's Track record now headlines the season's per-game pace against the earlier seasons of the chosen baseline, so a two-game season no longer reads as a full one.
- The footer invites feedback, bug reports, and questions at hello@cipheriq.app.
- A player's Track record opens on the whole career, and its by-season charts come in an even set: four for a back, receiver, tight end, or defensive back, six for a lineman or linebacker, with carries, receptions, tackles for loss, QB hits, and passes defended added.
- A renewal payment that fails pauses Pro right away, with the account page asking for an updated card; Pro returns the moment the payment goes through. Until now access continued through the retry window.
Fixed
- The injury report's "Updated" time is when the app last pulled the report, every two hours, not the date of the newest listing, which could be days old.
Changed
- The starting quarterback on a matchup page skips players listed Out, Doubtful, or on injured reserve, and players no longer on the roster; when nobody qualifies the brief says the replacement is not on record.
- Scores, injuries, lines, forecast, and news refresh every two hours through the week, at half past the hour.
Added
- The matchup Overview opens with a season card for each team and summary tiles as cards.
- Quarterback cards say plainly when a quarterback has no history to show.
Changed
- The refresh that carries scores, injuries, lines, forecast, and news now runs on a reliable clock through the week.
Fixed
- A Track record keeps every season of the baseline on its axes, even a season with no fourth-down try or home game yet.
Fixed
- A matchup's brief survives game day: a final keeps the read it had before kickoff, and a final's numbers stay as they were at the whistle.
- Next week's briefs build early, so the slate is never empty.
